It’s no secret that Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez don’t get along. While the two usually stay out of each other’s business, Mariah has talked to friends about Jennifer’s current situation.
The feud between the two singers started in the late ‘90s. JLo started collaborating with Mariah’s ex-husband, Tommy Mottola, and Mariah wasn’t happy about that. During an interview in 2008, Mariah infamously declared “I don’t know her” about Jennifer.
Now, an insider has shared that Mariah is having fun watching JLo fall “flat on her face.” It all stems from JLo canceling tour appearances and her marital problems.
According to an interview with In Touch, as Yahoo! shares, Mariah has allegedly followed the drama around JLo closely, as she gets ready for her own return to Vegas.
She believes that karma is coming for Jennifer, claiming that Jennifer is not as talented as she thinks she is. Mariah believes that Jennifer is too arrogant, and the canceled tour and marital woes are just the payback for that attitude.
Insiders say that Mariah has “trash-talked” JLo to her friends. This has been a way to make sure her own friends have her back. Mariah thinks that JLo will be ashamed to see her making all these concert plans and not have the ability to fight back in the on-stage war between them.
The insiders also make it clear that JLo knows of everything that has been said. The two have friends in common, so it’s going to get back to JLo. However, Mariah doesn’t care about that happening.
JLo May Have a Way to Come Back from This
Insiders have also shared that this isn’t the end of the feud. JLo is only going to put together a game plan to get back in the game.
She may put together a single that can be released during the holiday season. This is the time of year for Mariah, so it is a clear attack on her season.
Mariah is already planning her return to Vegas to celebrate the 30th anniversary of All I Want for Christmas Is You. The concert series is planned from Nov. 30 to mid-December. That gives J. Lo some time to put a plan together to push for her song to rise to the top of the charts in time for the Christmas No. 1.
Friends of JLo say that she is trying to stay positive right now. She hated canceling her tour in the midst of marital problems with Ben Affleck.
Now that she has filed for divorce, she has a lot more to worry about than Mariah. She is currently just trying to keep her mind on the good that the future can bring while working out this divorce when there isn’t a prenup to fall back on.
While fans don’t think JLo will be able to take over Mariah’s place as the heart of the holiday season, they aren’t all in support of Mariah’s attitude toward her. Many make it clear that it’s not good to take pleasure out of someone else’s pain.
